Despite ongoing privacy concerns, Google is still the king of search sites. Web surfers make nearly 4 billion searches on Google every day!
But Google's search system isn't just about finding recipes or the latest funny cat videos. It's loaded with cool, hidden features that might surprise you!
1. Track your packagesKeeping track of your packages used to mean logging into the USPS, UPS or FedEx site. But did you know Google can track almost any package for you?
Just enter the package tracking number directly into the search box. Google will pull up quick links that let you easily track the status of your shipment.
2. Check your flight statusNeed to know if a flight is delayed? Type your airline name and flight number into Google. You'll instantly see the flight's arrival and departure status. Google even shows you terminal and gate number information.
3. Get a quick translationNeed a quick translation of a foreign word? Instead of reaching for the nearest reference dictionary, try Google's translation feature.
Just type 'translate <word> to <language>' for a quick translation. So, for example, you can try 'translate chien to english.' Google will tell you that chien means "dog" in French.

If you need to translate longer phrases, try this free and simple translation program.
4. Set a timerThe next time you need to keep track of time, try Google's handy timer feature.
Simply type "timer" in the search box and then enter the number of seconds, minutes or hours. For example, "timer 1 minute 10 seconds".
Then click on Start button to start the countdown. Google will beep when the time has come. Be sure to raise the volume so you don't miss the alert.
